Poorgoo

Hi,
Does a studio version of Poorgoo exist? i am aware of the live 'undertaker' version. Also, has Prince performed this track many other times live?

this doesn't sound like a real song, just a groove to improvise lyrics over... but i've only heard the Undertaker one.

what are the lyrics? The lyrics on "the undertaker" sound improvised, even more so than "People Without"

Poor Goo, poor Goo, poor Goo {x3}

Poor Goo, he know he just
Don't wanna go home with that nappy haired dame
He know he'd rather... go home... with... U

Poor Goo, poor Goo, poor Goo

All the film he shot
It ain't 2 hot
All distorted

Poor Goo, poor Goo, poor Goo

No, U don't want Cap'n Crunch
When U can have... Trix

Poor Goo, poor Goo, poor Goo
Ow!

Poor Goo, poor Goo, poor Goo {x4}

This is a transcription the DTT undertook for the mp3 version released through the NPGMC in 2001, which originally featured on 'The Undertaker' video.

Yes, i thought it was about a ex-worker, i touched on that earlier. But what was the story behind the song? Did they have a fall out.

I see your point but it al depends on ypour interpretation of what constitutes a studio song. It was a live cut. If Prince released the undertaker cd would it have been considered a new studio album or the new live album recorded by prince? The video of this session proclaimed - 'Recorded live direct to DAT'.

I reckon, ney, i hope that a studio version exists! smile would love to hear it

recorded live direct to dat meaning... it was a studio session recorded direct to dat... Live consists of at a venue...all this was done in one take.

a "live" recording in front of an audiance can have overdubs

a studio recording can b recorded in one take

whenever there's no audiance it's studio recording, by "live" Prince meant "in one take"

I believe that Nothing Compares 2 U(from The Hits) would then be considered a studio recording. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "audience" was overdubbed on this cut.

It IS a live recording made during a concert at Paisley Park on Jan 27th '92.

I stand corrected. But Boris... I can't find a set-list. All I can see is that it was a post-SuperBowl party. Do you have a rundown by any chance?
