prince destoyed emancipation with plastic drum production imagine what could have been done with the emancipation
if prince was brave enough to use real instruments instead of awful drum machines that sounds like in the r kellys worst songs. i mean on that 3 cds set you can find some top notch melodies. but all ruined. emancipation and new power soul are his worst ever produced.

i think the production on NPS is okay - it's some of the songwriting that's embarrassing.
but you're right about 'emancipation' - real drums would have made a huge difference.

I completely agree.
Can you imagine some of those Emancipation songs recorded with his current band? It wouldn't have sounded like the same album at all. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

if prince reads this stuff i hope he can remove the criticism and take the comments constructively...

Emancipation wast the shit, but it would have been better with live drums. The drum machine sound is dated. But still Emancipation was the shit.

U guys r talking about Prince's greatest masterwork as if u knew anything about music when obviously u don't! Emancipation is PERFECT the way it is, live drums where there r drum machines wouldn't make any sense...

For an album that's so "perfect", it sure has gotten its share of really bad reviews from hardcore fans and critics alike. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Well, from a guy who was supposed 2 establish a balance in the Force & fucked it all by becoming a Sith Lord... But I threw that motherfucker over the railing, so I'm fine now. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

These Sith guys r unbelievable... Just because they throw an emperor over a railing make'em think they're sweet angels...

He put his 'best man' in charge of the beats
Lots of other things conspired against the project not working as a whole but the songs are the main reason. Too much half baked filler. As far as it being his 'masterwork', he played exactly how many of the songs on his tour last year?? He doesn't even like it. [Edited 9/3/05 17:02pm]

I'm sure that 2 Sith (or Jedi 4 that matter) could kill a whole bunch of Borgs anyway!

Great band work. Though other songs are perfect the way they are, like In This Bed Eye Scream.
