imagine what could have been done with the emancipation
if prince was brave enough to use real instruments instead of awful drum machines that sounds like in the r kellys worst songs.

i mean on that 3 cds set you can find some top notch melodies.
but all ruined.
emancipation and new power soul are his worst ever produced.

i think the production on NPS is okay - it's some of the songwriting that's embarrassing.

but you're right about 'emancipation' - real drums would have made a huge difference.

if prince reads this stuff i hope he can remove the criticism and take the comments constructively...

Emancipation wast the shit, but it would have been better with live drums. The drum machine sound is dated. But still Emancipation was the shit.

U guys r talking about Prince's greatest masterwork as if u knew anything about music when obviously u don't! Emancipation is PERFECT the way it is, live drums where there r drum machines wouldn't make any sense...

Lots of other things conspired against the project not working as a whole but the songs are the main reason. Too much half baked filler.

As far as it being his 'masterwork', he played exactly how many of the songs on his tour last year?? He doesn't even like it.
