Prince: Imp of the Perverse

How many of ya'll have read this book? It's by Barney Hoskyns and was published in 1988. I recently got a copy in the UK for 2.50.

I'm not finished yet, but what's striking me now is the idea of Prince as 'wunderkid.'

Krystal666's recent post made me think about how talented and determined Prince was at a young age. In fact, the man is the same as he was in the early 70's, determined 2 do his own thang and not sound like any1 else.

There's also the quote: "Just don't compare me to M. Jackson," whose picture is also in the book.

Heiress

i've read it... and didn't use any of it in the scholarly report i'm writing, because i found it too gossipy and anecdotal in tone, in comparison to, say, DMSR.

interestingly, my advisor tried to get it published here in French, and it was rejected for the same reasons...
