Race/Superhero/Disco9000 I downloaded this some time ago (from a live performance in Holland) and it was a pretty tight performance, but I am curious about the songs "Superhero/Disco 9000".
What NPG album was this on? Thanks for the help "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

I don't know about "Disco9000," but "Superhero" is a Prince song that the NPG performed on the Blankman soundtrack, and was also given to Earth, Wind & Fire for their album Millenium.

Me gets the feeling that "Disco9000" is the cover of Billy Preston's 'Outaspace"

Methinkso, since it was always played back 2 back with Super Hero. Known versions of Super Hero - Bootlegged EWF version (involving Prince?) - Released EWF version (very close 2 the demo version, apparently rerecorded from scrach with no Prince involvement) - Released Blankman version (2 remixes xist) - Bootlegged Exodus version, with Sonny on vocals & the inclusion of "Outta Space". By far the best version of all, damn funky!

Superhero may be one the few Prince related tunes I dislike...

I don't know about its origins, but Disco9000 is how Prince signed off on the song during the live performance.
The song started as Race, then was intertwined with this verse from Superhero: "Give us what you give your brother, then u'll understand I won't be ur Superhero..." Something like that, but then it segways after into a funky instrumental jam, which I am assuming is Disco 9000/some variation of Superhero. Since I have never heard Superhero or Disco 9000, I was under the assumption both were original compositions by P (at least Superhero was). Thanks for the help! "Old man's gotta be the old man. What u describe seems 2 b the aforementioned "Outta Space" cover. Try downloading the Exodus version, if it's the same intrumental jam u'll have ur answer. Welcome, by the way. I bought it on CD when it first came out ("Superhero").
I think i listened to it once and even at that i got bored halfway through. It sells for quite a good price on e-bay now. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Huh??? The liner notes on my "Millenium" don't mention Prince as playing on the track nor any Paisley Park recording. I have the album on tape only. What does urs say?

That's crazy since mine doesn't mention any of this Thanx 4 the info, i had always been wondering if P was involved or not.
