The World Music Awards to be taped live from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles August 31, 2005, will feature a cameo appearance by Sheila E. with Amerie. The show will air on ABC September 13, 2005 from 9-11 pm.

Man, I am starting to think that Sheila E will play with anybody. Since when does a respected veteran with her resume and skills play behind some wet behind the ears tramp singer with her ass out? Playing behind Patti Labelle pr Chaka Khan is one thing, this is the other end of the spectrum.

Sheila is more about music and caring for others than she is about worrying that someone doesn't like who she's playing with. I'm not familiar with Amerie's music but I will try and catch it if Sheila will be there.

But what was the deal with her "arrangement of Ludacris" perfomance on MTV VMAs?

That whole show was a train wreck, but I didn't notice anything in particular about Luda's thing, but I don't knwo what the alubm version was.

I know Sheila wasn't there in person.

No, I mean I saw the performance on BBC2 in England on Sunday, and Sheila was just pretending to conduct the band with her back to the audience. I was hoping she was going to play at some point and Amerie said "Sheila, break it down", and then Sheila turned around and carried on with the pretend conducting. She didn't play at all. Very odd especailly as it's a tune made for some mad percussion.
