Its so annoying to me how all these popular artists like Prince, and make it known that they do, but then still most people think hes a freak/homo/nymph. Why do these people have no influence over their fans?! Why is it such a crusade to get other people to see hes not a freak/homo/nymph and that he actually makes good records?!

Press is a bitch. neutral

The art of musicology, at the begining of it when other artists are talking about him. I can't remeber exactly what he said but its something about how he ( robert plant ) couldnt do what Prince done.

- The other ones were; Alicia Keys, Little Richard, Ozzy Osbourne (!), Herbie Hancock, Mos Def (I am not sure), No Doubt, Beastie Boys...I surely forgot somebody...

There is another documentary about Prince where Clapton, Miles, George Clinton and
Quincy Jones talk about him too.

I have a Guitar World magazine that says ´Just ask Eric Clapton, who always cites Prince (symbol then) as one of his favourite guitar players´. Cool!! smile

Cool topic, this one...I know several people who dislike Prince and don´t take him seriously as a musician and they are surprised when I say that some of their idols respect and like him as an artist.

If you have more quotes, let´s post here...smile

I liked the stuff that he did, and felt it was daring. It reminded me of Marvin Gaye, though Marvin was maybe a litle more abstract with how he said it,

Vonzell from American Idol....Alicia Keys.....and I read in a magazine that if Nick Carter could collaborate with any artist, it would be Prince. Said something how Prince did the best with rythim in the eighties. Oh and Jesse McCartney likes him too.
Prince says my name in one of his songs. In Little Red Corvette, he says, "Liz is on the verge of being obscene" Ha, ha, just kidding. But seriously.

John Mellencamp likes Prince's music. So did Elton John, Until when someone introduced the two of them backstage at a concert, Prince just stared at him for a second, then turned and walked away. Elton said " I haven't liked that little @###r ever since.

Boy George has been a Prince hater 4 years. I think it is because Prince stole his spotlight back in '82-83, by being better at being androgynous. BOy George always just came off as gay. eek

Elton gave Prince props for the Musicology Tour last year when he was going off on Madonna for lip-syncing.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Paul McCartney was reportedly blown away after seeing Prince perform at the 2004 RRHOF. When asked if he would go to one of his shows he said something like, "where there's a will..."

I may be wrong about Slash, but Axl is definitely a fan.
