Best Tour Stage Entrance ? I would say it's a toss up between Lovesexy entrance in the car or thru the curtains on the conveyor belt on the Gold Experience Tour

My vote goes to the Musicology entrance, where he was fed-ex'd onto stage in a crate.
Haven't seen it myself but I believe it was spectacular. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

I liked it when P entered the stage on Chick's back in the infamous James Brown/Prince/Michael Jackson 1983 thingy..

I saw him play at Jones Beach in NY for a
Jam Of The Year show. The stage is built right on the edge of the beach with the seats facing the water. All the lights went down, the intro music kicked in. You hear prince's voice a few times and then a spotlight hits the water next to the stage where Prince is perched on a boat! It had pulled around from behind the stage when the lights were down. He had a wireless mike and as the boat was heading toward the stage he was doing the intro to JOTY. I was like: oh shit he's comin in on a boat! Edinburgh 93 (act 1)?
When prince was coming down from the top of a stage in a swing accompanied to My Name is Prince. Only When the robe was taken off and we saw that he was wearing a bikini did we realise that it was actually Mayte.(she was wearing the chain hat) it was also funny cos when she jumped off the swing she landed on her ass. I have the dvd boot of that and to this day its still funny to watch. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Parade tour when he sang most of the first song from behind a black drape and then we were blinded by the strong white light.
Superb entrance that threw the whole audience for a good few seconds.

My fave was the JOTY show I saw at Jones Beach when he made his entrance playing guitar standing on the back of a motorboat.

The Musicology Tour when Prince emerged from the ground in that crate. The crowd went nuts. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

personal favs...
Act II: Mayte as Prince for the opening number, followed by the 'reveal'. Lovesexy: Arrival by Thunderbird The Gold Experience: Curtain drops to reveal 'Endorphinmachine' stage set and Prince arriving front of stage via conveyor-belt. plus close contenders... Purple Rain: "Dearly beloved..." just like the movie! Sign O' The Times: Solo spot on stage, finally joined by drumming band members. .

there's a lot of good ones!
my fav is Lovesexy... especially during the time, it was such a "trip" (literally) to start off the whole musical adventure driving around the stage in a Thunderbird... band members march on stage, and out pops Prince! The whole opening choreographed sequence (with Cat & Sheila) is one of the funnest things Prince has done to start off a show.

The pictures of him riding that elderly/disabled scooter were pretty damn funny.
Let's Go Crazy--him coming out of the floor in fog was hot. Check this song out at:

that was pretty frikkin' cool, every single time i saw it. though after a few times, i was more excited to see what he was gonna be wearing than i was about the actual theatrics of the entrance. "ooh! baby blue fringe!"

All you can see is a large flashing light shining through the smoke. It almost looked like a big flashing ball of fire. My sister was watching it with me and she said it looked like the opening gates at the entrance of Hell. Then you see Prince's shadow slowly rising to the top of the set by the blinds and the lights never come on until he swings down the pole at the beginning of "Let's Work". Andy is a four letter word.

I loved his entrance for the 15 Dec 2003 show in Las Vegas. It didn't make the dvd (Lord only knows why).
Drum kit was lit up w/ green, blue and white lights. Prince was on drums (favorite thing of mine. And to begin with it.... He does his thing then... He starts to spin out and in spins Sheila E. without missing a beat. She does her thing then starts to spin out and without missing a beat in spins John Blackwell. The whole thing was WOW...the lighting made it larger than life...I still get goosebumps. I'm firmly planted in denial

Yup I have a 1999 tour vid too. It's the homecoming one. What a show! That flashing light is coming from the drum too! All praise to Princes dramtic ideas and to Roy Bennet for the lighting and the design of the stage! As it said somewhere in some book: Prince was so damn dramatic and dynamic, there was nothing left to do BUT make a movie!
