Last time I saw Prince - 1988 , and I was way back ya'll.

For the NPGMusicClub members, does he look small from up-close, or are ya'll 2 in2 the funk 2 really observe that?

Responses would be much appreciated.

seeing him onstage, he doesn't come across as small to me whatsoever.

seeing him at an afterparty when you're on the same level ground and standing inches away from him, he looks impossibly small.

That reminds me of taking my friend to see the Musicology warmup show in Reno last year. When Prince rose up out of the stage, my buddy turned to me and said "You know, he doesn't look that short after all." We were front row and the stage was up a good five feet or so. During the show, Prince stood off stage about a foot away from us while band members were soloing. I turned to my friend and asked "What about now?" and he laughed.

Prince's stage presence makes him seem larger than life on stage, but when he's off, he's tiny. Hey, he can't help it!

I keep forgetting that Prince is an oompa loompa.

maybe the stage is tilted so he looks taller in front. Sisqo was known to do the same thing in his music videos (e.g "Thong Song")!

i didnt know prince was petite till i actually saw him off stage that pretty much shocked me...i had always heard about it...but he looked like a small petite woman..

I saw him live at the Musicology tour . I had second row seats and he looked taller to me . I think when your on stage you come across larger than life ,so I cant judge by that i guess.

Hollywood knows how to frame small actors-performers.

Tom Cruise & other are on the 5'6" - 5'9" range! The way you frame them, makes everyone seem 6'0"

When I seen him on stage, he didn't Iook that smaII.

Ive seen him on stage many times from close up and of course on TV and he never looked so small until he walked passed me at an afterparty in 2000

He doesn't look short live on-stage. But that may be because everyone is groovin' to his music, and not thinking about his height.
However, I do think he looks short in certain videos and TV appearances.

he is so tall on stage because he turns on his big charisma. i am serious.

last year i had the opportunity to be front row two times, from there he looked larger than life....but the first night, i was positioned right in front of the stairs where he came up and down the stage, and every time he walked by me it was like damn, he is one tiny dude! not just short, but "tiny". Plus, one of my friends danced next to him onstage the next night, he was in his heels, she in her flats, and she said she was astounded at how tiny he appeared, while he wasnt much shorter than her since he had on the heels, he was just tiny looking.

I'm not sure but the friend that was with me was 5'9" and Sly was shorter than she was, and she was wearing flats. He was just a little taller than I am and I'm 5'5".
