he coulda made a pretty penny off it. it was such a good performance, and a great simulcast - none of the artsy craftsy editing crap that usually plagues his on-screen concert experiences...

I believe I heard somewhere that Prince does not own this. I believe it was part of the agreement between the promoter and the paisley camp.

Love to see this again, as with any of the Musicology gigs. The March 29, 2004, gig was just so historic for it being a United States-wide live simulcast.

I would do that again anytime.

Me and my boyfriend are on the dvd during Baby I'm A Star... we had AWESOME seats.

When prince walks out on stage, you can see babyface sitting in the front row.

it was a great show!!! and a great boot... I can see why prince didn't release it... the sound was very flat... but at least it's out there for us to groove to!!!!

I guess I'd like to have a DVD of this, but seeing Candy Dulfer's camel toe just wouldn't be the same on the small screen. pout

You mean from Kiss?? I've watched it a few times and there aren't any obvious celeb shots. It starts from Alicias speech.

I saw a news clip for opening night and celebs in attendence included Eddie Murphy, Damon Wayans, Stevie Nicks and Gwen Stefani.

I have tons of shows which span each tour and this DVD by far ranks in my top 5! It's apparant why it was never released. The sound is pretty low and the lighting is bad.

Which show is the "? of u/the one" on the npgmc site from?

this dvd is AWESOME!!!!! great quality and sound

my only complaint is that the musicology tour got better as the tour went on, and the acoustic section got longer as well.....plus I like the acoustic section much better in the middle part of the concert as opposed to the end.....

BUT ITS GREAT!!!!!

Agreed on most parts but the earlier part of the tour(namely the Staples show mentioned here) did feature songs that were eventually dropped or weren't played all that often like Insatiable,Forever In My Life,The Question of U,Sometimes It Snows In April,The Beautiful Ones and Nothing Compares 2 U.

This is a great great show because its l.i.v.e. NO crap dubs or edits. Its being there. And it remians a great show for the acoustic portions emotions and the performance of Purple Rain in itself.

I read a review of the show from a fan, I want to re-read it.
