America video I just saw the long version of this video today for the first time. I loved every minute of it. Watching Prince play the drums was awesome. But, it made me sad because it made me miss The Revolution.
What do you guys think of the video. Up until today, the only version I had seen ended with Prince throwing records to the crowd. I was so stoked to see something new...that was old.

Great live video. Prince becoming ever more accessible and less distant, or at least that's how I remember it at the time. Love the Ali impersonation he does with the drumstick after he showed that the guy who recorded drums on his early albums wasn't just a studio trick. I heard he honed his chops because sheila e. made him want to improve on drums. Did you ever see the interview from mtv that this video was hooked onto?

Yeah, I did, but I never saw the complete video. I don't know why. I had heard the audio version, but I had never seen it. I loved watching Prince on drums. Other than in the Sign O The Times film, I've never seen him play them, and we all know that he didn't actually play them in the SOTT film.

Man I remember seeing the whole interview and video at my grandparents house. I was siting in the bed amazed to hear him speak, I was 6 and I hadn't watched Purple Rain yet. I saw the shortened America video right before this but when I saw that there was more I was stoked. And seeing him on the drums just made me go . I'll never forget that. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I know because I was there when he played in Utrecht (Holland) in 1987. And the music you hear in the SOTT film is taken from live footage of the actual tour. So he's really playing to a soundtrack of himself.

I always thought that video ends with Prince wearing the tamborine around his neck and saying thank you. Where did you see the rest of it, and can you or someone else post it in the video forum.

I guess he is actually playing the drums in the movie, but I just figured he was "fake" playing them in the movie. In the America video, it's just more awesome to watch.
