Judas Smile/Bamboozled... So, what is the mix-up in the title of this song?
I had this filed away as Bamboozled, only to find out via Miguel and Anita it is actually Judas Smile... Wassup with this? Was Judas Smile ever known as Bamboozled? Or is it just me being sloppy (as I don't give a rat's ass for this song...)?

Maybe because of this ;

It is a soundtrack to a Spike Lee movie. 2045 was first released on that, before it hit NPGmc, if I remember correctly. Can you believe I so NOT care about some of Prince's releases that I never ever before made the link between Judas Smile (Kiss, whateva) and the song I had filed away as Bamboozled? LoL I am SUCH a git sumtimes. And Prince should make some GOOD music featuring GOOD lyrics again... what an unbelievable stoopid lyric is Judas Smile...unbelievable.

The beat and the vibe to the song aren't so bad , imo , tho' But i agree , the lyrics are rather stupid indeed

To me, music should come as a holy trinity; good vocals, good music and good lyrics. Prince hasn't met the grade the last fifteen years, not often, not to my standards...

agreed
But there are still quite a few good songs on the albums released after 1990 imo , but you're right , he used to be much better

But there are still quite a few good songs on the albums released after 1990 imo , but you're right , he used to be much better Where as I would use to love entire albums before 1990, after 1991 the blandness started to creep in with him getting a fixed recording facility, where his music started sounding a bit tired and him following trends instead of setting them. He smartly disguises it as if he is not interested in chart success, with albums like N.E.W.S and TRC, but Rave and Musicology prove otherwise. He is still cocky, up to a certain degree. I think this is why he has been running with famous peeps lately in LA and why it hink we will get an amazing commercial album next... The reports about the videoshoot proves me right, up to now, at least.

Yeah agreed , hope you're not right about the next album
Btw ,i think 'Musicology' is quite ok , apart from 'Life O'The Party' , but yeah he's capable of so much more [Edited 8/23/05 9:20am]

When it was fist on Npg for download it was called Judas kiss, then it was changed to smile. I bet it was called Bamboozled before it was made an outtake from the soundtrack and then changed to judas whatever, to disassosiate it from the movie and the sound track. You can tell by the lyrics it was for the movie.

The bass break is killer, though. Actually, I quite like this song, except for the ending.

Well, I did not get it from NPGmc. It was called Bamboozled. I mean, you can call Prince ToraTora, but he's still Prince, right? So Bamboozled it is.

'Life O'The Party' Hehehe. We are all allowed our weaknesses. Mine is LIKING Life O' The Party. Can't understand what people hate about this song. I can't wait for an entire album of Prince tunes sung by Candy. To me it was such a joy to hear her sing backing vox with Rhonda during the last few tours... Prince's vocals sound so ace with girls vocals to back it up...

It's the beat, man. Listen to that beat. That's the best beat since The Future and you know it!

Yeah , playing it now , beat is quite indeed

I tried to stay away from all the comments about the song, as I kinda like it lots from the start...
I am playing it now. I loooove Candy's vocals. I love the chorus. The only thing I do not really like are the horns after the second chorus. And that silly Prince talk/break just after the horns... That makes it a bit lame. The rest of the song sounds fiiiine to me. I really like Candy's voice in the choruses and her voice through the verses.

Quite frankly the chorus is the thing i like least about the song Oh well , different strokes for different folks i guess

Hi Herman Have you heard anything about the actual video shoot itself or just the fact that he's shooting a new video? Just wondering if I've missed any on-the-set goss or something.

By the way, like others have already said, the song was originally named 'Judas Kiss' but then re-titled 'Judas Smile'.
And, yes - I think it's one of his weakest efforts of the last few years. Not one of my favourites. A lot of people seem to like it, though. You bought Goldfrapp yet? I know you will like it.

Nope. I don't buy ANYTHING these days... I am a poor fellow. I am Mr Download. And Cheek said the album was a dissappointment; too commercial and easy sounding. I liked the first alot. And the singles off the second. And the Yes Sir promo...

Maybe I am in love with it so much I want everyone to love it.
