Purple Rain Soundtrack question Does anyone know why the order of songs on the soundtrack is different from the order in the movie?
Baby I'm a Star comes before Purple Rain on the Soundtrack, but in the Flick Baby I'm a Star closes the film after the Purple Rain emotional climax

I think it is purely because Purple Rain the song works far better at the end of the album than Baby I'm A Star, especially the extended fade out. In the context of the film, Purple Rain HAD to be before Baby I'm A Star, since it is where Prince finds emotional redemption - we see him realise that, then performing more songs shows that he has been accepted and also 'won' the battle of the bands so to speak.

could not have put it better myself. He had to show his self off because Purlple rain ending the movie would not fit right but to climax it on the LP worked like a charm *********************************************
I'll believe it when I see it
