What songs would you have put on Crystal Ball?

Based on the outtakes that you were aware ofat the time it was released, which songs would you have included? 30 song limit.

I would have kept it to outtakes from the time period of the original
Crystal Ball album. Therefore leaving the option there to put out similar
collections of outtakes for other time periods.

I'd go with that. And have the liner notes be a little more detailed..... And state emphatically the difference between CB'98 and CB'86, so we didn't have a plethora of threads confusing the two on the org - it's only courtesy on Prince's part biggrin

That would be good. Maybe also include some (full length) B-Sides from the
time that wouldn't otherwise be available on CD, plus the odd Prince original
of tracks that we released by other artists around that time too.

Here's my suggested tracklisting...

DISC 1:
01. Crystal Ball
02. Rebirth Of The Flesh
03. Adonis And Batsheeba
04. Can I Play With U?
05. Soulpsychodelicide
06. Stimulation
07. Love And Sex
08. Movie Star
09. A Place In Heaven
10. If I Love U 2night

DISC 2:
01. Camille
02. Feel U Up (Long Stroke)
03. The Sex Of It
04. Emotional Pump
05. Everybody Wants What They Don’t Got
06. Cosmic Day
07. 3 Nigs Watchin’ A Kung Fu Movie
08. Shockadelica (Full Length Version)
09. Good Love (Extended O.S.T. Version)
10. Eternity

DISC 3
01. U
02. Last Heart
03. Sexual Suicide
04. Telepathy
05. La, La, La, He, He, Hee (Highly Explosive)
06. No Changes
07. Make Your Mama Happy
08. Wally
09. Conversation Piece
10. Crucial (Full Length Version)

He could then release other collections in a similar vein from other time
periods. e.g. 'Dream Factory' (Dream Factory & Parade era Revolution outtakes),
'Purple Music' (1999 & pre-Purple Rain outtakes) etc.

It isn't. Prince re-recorded it again with slightly less personal lyrics,
like he did with Old Friends 4 Sale.

Those are song titles that were reported by Uptown to be considered for inclusion on Emancipation prior to its release. They are now considered to have been fake. Dunno who made them up. biggrin

Yeah. And these too while he's at it:

Frantic
Tow
Like A Woman
MD (Miles Is Alive)
Rave Church Style

- rumored song titles for the prince album back in 1992, not to mention:

Last Chance
Church
She’s So Hot
Bus Stop
Freedom
Pocket Rocket

- said to have been recorded for the Diamonds And Pearls album back in 1991. biggrin
