Arsenio Hall show question

Does anyone remember Prince's second appearance with Mayte on The Arsenio show? At the end he played "The Max" with a jazzed up grove added at the end... Was this version ever available for sale as single or anything?

I think I remember this show. Did he also perform The Morning Papers? That was a great show; afterwards, I can remember the NPG jamming and people from the audience coming out 2 dance.

Those songs were not officially released as audio. There are boots like the "NPG-TV" sets out there though.

This is what all took place in that episode which aired in 1993:

Prince performed "My Name Is Prince", "The Morning Papers", "Blue Light", and "The Max"

Mayte was in the crowd and came on stage 2 roll 75 cents on her stomach

Sinbad imitated Prince in a goofy interview with Arsenio

yeah i got it on tape. It was alright, an average prince performance. He was coming off the big success of diamonds and pearls and this album was suppossed to be the start of a big contract and we all know how that went.

To answer the question... no, i've never heard of a released version (or even an unreleased studio version) of the extended take he did of "The Max" on Arsenio.

There are 5 in the series. Not all tracks are music though, as some are audio of documentaries such as the Omnibus special.
