Happy Birthday Small Club!

Best concert he ever did? Many think so. Pure magic on every level.

Possibly P's greatest live moment. Ever. Certainly one of his best guitar moments. I feel dizzy every time I hear it.

thumbs up! That guitar solo makes me weak...I can't even begin to imagine what that was like for the people there.

Now if Prince would only quit bitching about bootlegs and put this undeniably genius stuff out, he'd not only put some bootleggers out of business, he'd sell a boatload of copies.

...
The Black Album is one of the best sold bootlegs in the history of modern music ....

But the original 1996 release didn't sell at all!
a) People already got great boot-versions
b) Prince isn't that hot anymore

If Prince is to release a LoveSexy aftershow I wish it would be another one than the famous The Hague aftershow: I do own this small club show in perfect quality!!!

I wish he would release the Grosse Freiheit (Hamburg) aftershow in perfect quality.
This is a great aftershow, but the soundquality of the bootleg isn’t that great.

30 August 1988 Grosse Freiheit, Hamburg:
Just My Imagination, Rave Unto The Fantastic, Girl & Boys, Venus De Milo, Starfish And Coffee, Raspberry Beret, People Without, Condition Of The Heart, Still Would Stand All Time (With Taylor Dayne), Strange Relationship, A Love Bizarre, I'll Take U There, Down Home Blues, Blues In C, Cold Sweat, God Is Alive (Incl. Camille's Story), I Wish U Heaven, Purple Rain

Or at least he wasn't at that time, for he had just changed his name to "Whoosh-THUNK!" And it was 1994, not '96.

But I think the main reason it didn't do so well was because there was no promotion behind it. If I recall correctly, they just put it out there.

The live version of Rave Unto the Joyfantastic on this thing kicks much butt.

"Levi can you rumble with that?" dancing jig

"Mikko, you from Oakland give me some Crips." headbang

Oh sorry. That's what I was asking. Since you mentioned VD and DVD, I thought you had the show on video.

Couple of questions:

1) Can anyone provide me with the band members that night? I always wondered if Fink was playing that night.

2).Was it Prince playing the keys on first track, RAVE? I am curious about who was behind that scorching solo.

Peace

1) Fink was playing that night, Eric Leeds was absent due to him being ill.
2) RAVE isn't the first track, it's the last track!
I don't know who's playing the scorching solo (Fink / Boni / Prince)

Instrumental Jam,
DMSR,
Just My Imagination,
People Without,
Housequake, here you can easily notice the absence of Eric Leeds
Down Home Blues,
Cold Sweat,
Forever In My Life,
Still Would Stand All Time,
I'll Take You There,
Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic / It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night
