Yes I've seen tears and I also the emotional shit I've ever witnessed or will ever witness on on a stage.
At Paisley Park one time he came on stage just pissed and was beating the hell out of the guitar (A little like that scene in PR but extended for like 10 minutes of ferocious solos) and then he sat down at the piano and looked like he was going to cry and played the most heart-breaking music I had ever heard. It was very obvious he had gotten in a fight with someone (Mayte?) and carried it with him right onto the stage. There wasn't many people there but EVERYONE was talking about how special it was to see a man play his emotions like that.

Prince's music is often very emotional for me anyway, but seeing HIM so raw - emotionally - while he played would've been an incredible experience (not that I would've been glad to see him so visibly upset, but hopefully you know what I mean). I don't think he shows his true emotions like that on stage much anymore.

It doesn't seem so to me very much anymore He seems/seemed on autopilot a lot in recent years. To me, anyhow

I read a review of opening of the Musicology tour where it stated he cried during LRC acoustic portion (at the end). And Greg Tate stated that during Purple Rain in 1984 he cried and played his heart out during Purple Rain and when he got only fazed reactions from the audience he started cursing them out.

Plus this was in 1984, not 20 years later. Jimi had cursed out audiences who were zoned out and not appreciative of the work and sweat from the stage.
