Voodooing a Purple Spirit

Is that Prince on D'Angelo's Voodoo CD? All the songs sound like D'Angelo conjured up a purple spirit

There are a lot of influences in there, tho. P's is arguably the most obvious because he is the most contemporary of influences.

Word is he played Parade prior to his recording sessions on this album.

Prince's influence is all over the place. I don't hear other influences, just Prince. If there is other influence, it's still done in Prince's fashion. If the young don't know Prince, then they don't know shit! I'm just saying, the only influence I hear is Prince. I think P had something 2 do with this shit!

Well, P's influence is the most pronounced, but I hear some Marvin, some Stevie, some James Brown, etc. as well.
