Does everyone need to be reminded that this came out at the time he was declaring himself dead and the WB feud was beginning. Prince felt very lost at this time. This song is incredibly haunting. I love this song to death.

Your description of Solo from Come was perfect.

That song is incredible to listen to. From the lyrics to the harp sounds to the thunder in the background - this song is bizarre and very haunting. It fits so perfectly on that dark, lonely record.

I remember reading around the time of release for Come, a review here in Toronto said something to this effect: even though Come is considered a Prince throw away record, most artists' best work isn't as solid as this.

I still believe the record is incredible - from the musicianship, Prince's vocals, the songs, the segues, the horns, the song selection, the lyrical content, to the drum and synth programming, to the album artwork - it's all so dark and dreary.

I love it... One of my favourite Prince records. And, I don't think it was as much a throwaway as it has been described to be. Prince had an agenda and vision with that record and the music along with the lyrics plus the artwork are all reflective of this.

I don't mind it, but it doesn't really work for me - it doesn't come across as completely sincere + if you're gonna do a trak like this I think it has to blow the listener away, and not be just: "hm, that's interesting".

I'm not saying it's the most brilliant tune ever, but perhaps some of you are so disgusted by it because you're not used to hearing someone just let go and pour their feelings and emotions into a record. I think P was very sincere and maybe a bit sad when he recorded this. This song can be taken many ways, just like "Had U" from Chaos and Disorder. Both songs are kinda "letting us in", if we listen closely.
