Well I have been going in order getting Prince's cd's. I am at a fork in the road now. Which cd would you suggest getting next (yes I am going to break the buy them in order goal I set for myself)

The next three in line are

Around The World In A Day
Parade
Sign O The Times

Of the three which would you suggest to get first. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I would go with Around The World. It was one of the first prince albums i got and it has alot of musical styles, as well as some of his best songs like temptation

buy them chronological ...
you'll understand the musical development.

I have enjoyed the first six cds thus far. Yes in chrono order. Only one it took me a while to get into was 1999. I know a lot of people told me about that one being his best or one of his best albums. I personally only liked two tracks other than the obvious title track and Little Red Corvette those were Free, and D.M.S.R. Then again I felt the same way about the Prince album but now like all of the tracks. So it has to grow on me.

I say go in order, even though I bought mine all out of sequence.

Going in order makes it easier to hear the sound transitions.

WeII of course the best out the 3 is Sign O' the times. So I'd go with that.

I recommend doing the chronological order for buying the CDs, so go for Around the World. Of course Sign trumps almost everything Prince has done prior and since, but get them in their order of release. It would have been interesting if I would have gone that route.

One note though: there are certain Prince discs that are harder to find now [not impossible, just a little more difficult]. If you come across them, I would recommend getting them when you can and just wait to listen until you get to that particular period. I think the following are kind of hard to find:

The Black Album [I would recommend listening to that right after Sign O' The Times and not in the order in which it was released: 1994]
The Gold Experience
Crystal Ball
Emancipation might be kind of hard to find. . .
