I tried to see them last year but they wouldn't let us in for some reason. They were performing in a bar in the corner of one of the casinos. Some guy who was the bouncer or something, told me they were too full and couldn't let anyone else in, so we stood by the outside and tried to watch it, then he let like 10 other people in right after us. So I tried to zoom in with my camera and take a couple pics to share here, and he started giving me shit about that too, so we said fuck it and left. The show seemed pretty good from what little I caught, but it wasn't worth the BS to try and get in. I've had better luck seeing the real Prince.

Probably the best Prince (but not Prince) band that I have seen. If you have never seen Prince live you could believe this was him. He even has the same Prince expressions. I bet Prince wished he was as tall as this guy.....
If you get the chance go and see them as it well worth it...

If you get the chance go and see them as it well worth it... This is the absolute truth! I go to Vegas just to see them. Just read the comments in the PurpleReign.net guest book. Ofcourse it's worth it! afetrall it's FREE!!

Why a talented guy like him or his band would just wanna be a Prince imitation, I'll never understand. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

They are very enjoyable. It is a true tribute to the wonder that is Prince. The atmosphere at the Boardwalk room they play in is cozy. Be sure to get there early as there is always people left standing. It's based on the early music of Prince and the outfits that he wore at the time. Even down to the lookalike guitars. The group is nice and they sign autographes and take pictures if you want and of course sell their wares.
When you get to Vegas pick up a tour book from your Hotel or the Airport and there is usually a half page add on the group. I believe the show is free with a 2 drink minimum. Purple Wishes N Computer Blue Dreams 2 U Brsugah

I just saw them in Vegas a month ago, and I gotta tell you...they are an amazing cover band. Well, to be honest I didn't pay too much attention to the band, cause my eyes were glued to Jason. That guy looks so much like Prince it's scaray! He has ALL his little details and quirks down, I have never seen anything like it. His glances, smiles, moves, splits, hand movements...everything. The only thing that was kinda "off" is that he was mixing up costumes from different Prince eras...like the purple trenchoat together with clothes from the D&P era...that was kinda goofy. But boy oh boy, he could even play a mean guitar...and he looked GOOD. As a matter of fact, I think I want to marry Jason.

Actually, Jayson (Prince) and his brother Levant (Morris Day) have produced some original material that they performed the first time I saw them and it was quite good! The last time I was there I spoke with Mico and inquired about their music and he said that they were still working on it.

Not a cover band but a tribute band. Meaning this is as close as it gets! They are IT!

I have a friend who went to see them the last time he was in Vegas and he said and I quote:
"They're bad", "They're bums", "They were terrible." "The atmosphere was not cozy it was small...it seats 15." By the way he's a huge Prince fan. . [Edited 8/11/05 16:42pm] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think your friend must have been in the wrong place! These muthafuckas have a very tight sound and Jayson, despite some minor vocal adjustments needed, has all of Prince's moves and mannerisms down!! And plays a mean as guitar!! I highly recommend all to go see them if given the chance to. At least go check out their guest book and see what the people have to say!www.purplereign.net Oh btw, I'm a long time prince fan as well (24 years and nearly 20 concerts). Definately worth going to. I got there early last time I went (Boardwalk Casino on the strip) and sat at the bar. It's not the best seat in the place but if you're broke by then (!) there isn't a drink minimum. Although after a couple of drinks it'd be really easy to imagine it's really Prince - they'll that believable. Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

So it's in a bar? Guess I can't get in to see them, then I'm only 20.

They're TERRIBLE! They are in this GROSS casino near the Aladdin...I think it's the Boardwalk. Oh god, what a waste of time. Whoever said that this dude plays a mean guitar MUST get his head out of his dumb ass o many Saphire and tonics and a few too many fat joints gone.immediately. My girlfriend, who's birthday we were celebrating in Vegas, thought they were great...But she was high... Occupy Alphabet Street!

I like going to see them when I'm in Vegas. They are at the Boardwalk Casino. It's the big casino across-diagonally from the Alladin that has a white roller coaster/boardwalk/amusement park theme.
It's a pretty tacky casino and to call the little corner bar they play in "cosy" is being very generous, it's tiny, so as mentioned previously, you do want to get there early. The guy that plays Prince is good, but, for me, it got tiresome after a while. The band is good. It is GREAT hearing Prince music played live. It's a nice fix when Prince is on hiatus. I'm firmly planted in denial

I would definitely recommend them. They are a fun show. Granted the last time I have seen them was 4 years ago. But they were so good then that my boyfriend and I went to see them the next night. Go you'll enjoy it!

So I can't get in if I'm not 21?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Vinny - Let's face it there's not a whole of places you can get into until you're 21, the Boardwalk Casino bar included. Sorry. Vegas is way more fun after you turn 21, just keep your ID handy! Eventually every cloud runs out of rain.

I saw them on my wedding night in January. They were in a bar at the Boardwalk Hotel then. They do their show several times throughout the night, so eventually you can get in to see them. We didn't get in on the first show because the bar is small (seats more than 15 though, more like 50). We watched from the entrance (could still see and hear everything), and when they broke after the first show, lots of people got up to go to the bathroom, etc., and we got in, front row seats. The guy really is awesome. from the front row, he does look like Prince...but not when you are standing right up to him. I had my pic taken with him during one of the breaks, i will try to find it and scan upload it.
if you are ever in Vegas, it is definately a must see! I really enjoyed it, and will definately go see them again when I return. You get to hear some of the great songs that P refuses to play now, like P Control and Get Off, etc. (even got darling Nikki with the grinding too). He is an awesome performer/dancer/singer. Not to mention, entry to the show is free, but there is a two drink minimum purchase. You can, however, sit on the opposite side of the bartenders and see the show pretty good, and no drink purchases required there

This sucks. By the time I turn 21(4 more years), with my luck they won't be performing there anymore. Why do I have to be 21? Can't I just buy a couple cokes?! Everytime I comb my hair
Thoughts of you get in my eyes... Vous etes tres belle...
