Funny, I don't see that as a segue. I always thought it was a guitar solo of "Private Joy" itself. But you're right, he could have just as well made a new noisy guitar track for "Orgasm" instead.

well, it happens as "private joy" is fading out and "ronnie talk 2 russia" is fading in, right? maybe it's just a matter of perception. whatevs.

I love this album. It's got a darker edge than we normally see from Prince, and that's definitely appreciated. Not that Prince's standard fare is stale, (usually, anyway) but the sinister dark that creeps around this album is like a breath of fresh air in contrast to his more positive work. Variety is good.
I rarely play Orgasm though. It's good for a giggle every now and then, but there's only so many times it's interesting. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

So I listened to the whole CD, and I'm feelin it. There's definately some sub-par material there, but there's also the total awesomeness of "Come", "Letitgo", "Dark" and "Race".... I would say the album as a whole is above average, I like most of this CD more than I like a lot of the songs on the "Symbol" album. |

pheromone, papa is so brilliant and I think it's the second track after papa, that slow one with very few instruments (there's something sounding like a harp on it) - anyway it must have influenced Jeff Buckley, for sure?

doctamario said: I love the cover of this album as well. Very underrated.
Yes, I just got this album and was curious about the cover. The blurry part (on the inside of the CD foldout, I think--sorry I don't have the album with me) sort of looks like the front of La Sangrada Familia in Barcelona. Does anyone know what church it is? Also is the front cover from a cemetary? Again, anyone know where? Thanks. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
