Just picked it up, havent heard any of the songs before. What's everyone's favorites from this cd, and overall opinions of it? I'd be interested to know.

I'll post my first thoughts of it tomorrow, once i've listened to all of it.

The lyrics are so well done, little hard to understand the lyrics when he sings falsetto, but get them off the internet and follow the story...

Come, The Space, Pheromone, Papa, Loose! Fuck it, they're all good.

the only track that kinda grates on my nerves is the last track, but i think it was meant to be an atmospheric weirdo throwaway piece anyway, or at most a little nod to fans who can recognize where the guitar and moaning are sampled from.

Solo..i really dig this..track..its sorta-ambient in a way..its like relaxing,and then princes suprises you with his trademark wails..
Papa..becuase its shows..the dark side of prince,a side we don't usually see..


i personally like the whole design of the album.

Dark and Pheromone are my favorites, and I really like the universal love remix of Space

Letitgo, Papa, Dark, and Come.

Race (his best rap-funk track ever), Papa, Letitgo and Dark.These are really good songs. Early bandmembers and writers thought it was a crap album. I think its pretty good.

It's one of my favorite album, the sound mix is so strong, so dark not like Musicology who sounds flat !

I love every single songs, maybe my fav one is Pheromone, then Come, then Solo etc..

loose! Letigo and phermone, which is sexy as hell.


"solo" sucks. Its too artsy and crappy. What a throwaway.

Space is my favourite, either the album version or the acoustic mix are both fantastic. Its a bit of a nothing song, but i love the chilled vibe of both versions.

Come - I think i prefer his origianl band version of this, its funkier, but i like this version too.

Dark - great ballad. I even like the version on Crystal Ball. Coming to think of it, you could easily create and decent alternate version of Come, there are that many different versions of the songs on it.

Pheremone - I thought that whilst not reaching the realms of classic, this rounded off a great trio of songs to start the album.

Letitgo - Probably one of his worst singles ever, but a good song all the same.

Rest of the album - all blends in to one for me. Loose, Papa, Race, Solo, just dont have enough about them to make me want to listen to them, although i like the menacing vibe of Papa.

All in all I think this album is a big disappointment. I know it was put out at the height of his acrimony with WB, but when I think of the quality of songs the sessions produced, he could quite easily have produced a brilliant album with Come (and also with TGE), but instead chose to fill it with shit like Loose and Orgasm - utter garbage. He well and truly meant to kill Prince with this record.....sad really.

2. Papa - love the "Everybody's crazy..." part enough to make it #2 on the list
3. Come - I prefer other versions more, but this one will do
4. Pheremone - not bad

Hell, the whole album is great.

until I heard a live version on a bootleg.

i've said in the past that i think "come" is to prince as "low" is to bowie.

maybe someday i can elaborate on that.

till then, it's just how the "come" album feels to me.

The last two I could have lived without. "Space" is fine as it is, but I just can't stand those synth lines on the chorus these days. Don't work in 2005 anymore. And "Orgasm" turns me on for some reason. Maybe it's Prince's guitar work.

i like the guitar work on 'orgasm' better on the segue between 'private joy' and 'ronnie talk 2 russia'.
