My version isn't the greatest so maybe I need to go look up the lyrics confused

Schoolyard is a funky and funny jam that I liked since I first heard it.

Cookie Jam is a jam as well.I wanna hear the original Parlet (the George Clinton spin off group)'s version.

The original song "Cookie Jar" is by "Fuzzy" Haskins, an original member of the Parliaments (later Parliament) with George Clinton. It can be found on his debut album "A Whole Nother Thang."(1976)

The Parlet version is slamming too.

Indeed ...
Prince's version is closer to Parlet's version than to the original release by Fuzzy Haskins

Kick-ass song

I kinda like the drumbeat of "Schoolyard" - the snare and the kickdrum are very cleverly displaced.

It took me a while to figure out where the "one" is...

i've actually had "schoolyard" in my head for a couple of days now-
i love this track. i wish i had a cleaner version.

this and "teacher, teacher" are two of my favories unreleased tracks.
i guess it's cause i went to 12 years of strict catholic school and
the thought of being dirty in or around the school was so exciting/forbidden to me.

Is it really? I thought The Time's "Release It" was the one with the "Squibcakes" beat...?
