I just heard the track from the Holland show he did with Auld Lang Sayne as the intro for Purple Rain and the guitar work on that alone..... eek eek .

That boy a flat out trip when he wanna be. Talk about an intro eek

I think he loves playing that Purple Rain guitar solo. He seems like he always tries to kill it razz

That isn't a Holland show. It was at a New Year's Eve party at Paisley Park (hence Auld Lang Syne, a song traditionally sung on New Year's Eve)

As far as I know, that Paisley show was the only time he did Auld Lang Syne as an intro. Does he say, 'C'mon, get your rope, come get all your rope'? That is when the technician had to come and pick up his rope which had failed to pull down the balloons hidden in the rafters.

New Years 1987.

Oh Ok, You're right then. Thanks for the knowledge biggrin

Well I still loved the performance whatever the case. I wish I had been there to see it. I would love to get this concert on video

Actually, it was professionally recorded for Prince's own use, and there is a pretty decent bootleg of the concert if you can find it. I've seen sizeable chunks of it.
