For me, I felt his guitar playing wasn't as prominent as his 80s music. The period between 93-96 contains alot of outstanding guitar work. Even songs songs on Come were based around original guitar tracks. This was probably his best 'guitar period'. Save for "Purple Rain" ofcourse... Otherwise, I'd agree with ya....

Lovesexy, on the other hand, has been played on a regular basis since I bought it in 1988. It's not his best...but, like most of his 80s output, its totally original and filled with great songs that sound less dated than most of his 90s stuff. So...hmmm...let's see...which one should it be...hmmm... L O V E S E X Y !!!!! IMO Prince's 1980s work will always sound dated. As does most music from the decade. Whereas the rapping elements of the early 90s may also be dated I feel most of his 90s work stands the test of time better. That doesn't mean it's necessarily better music, merely 'less dated'.
