Prince helped Eric Johnson get deal with Warner. That's too cool.
After hearing him play Austin City Limits, Prince called Warner Bros.

Ooh! Ooh! I love Eric Johnson's playing. Of course "Cliffs of Dover" is cool, but "Manhattan" has always been my favorite track. "Camel's Night Out" is just pure fun.

His tone is just to die for - the only word I can think of to describe it is "regal". His chops are freakin' awesome! My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

That's great.
Eric has that wonderful paradox of mellow beautiful songs and fiery guitar playing. I love "When The Sun Meets The Sky" and the title track from "Venus Isle". He is on the cover of the latest issue of Guitar Player. For any fellow guitar players the closest I can get to his delay sound is 320ms with 20% repeats.

Eric Johnson was signed long before P's split with WB. I have a friend who often works for Eric Johnson. I'll have to ask him if this story is true. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

EJ was once asked about this in a guitar mag interview. He replied that though it was often rumored that Prince called up Warner Bros, he didn't know if the story was actually true. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth
