'didn't cha know' - erykah badu's version vs. prince's

i personally have to go with erykahs.

the version ive heard her do live and on record is much better than princes. rhonda has a lovely husky voice which fits the song well but erykahs reading of the song is the definitive and more authoriative one.

well i think that's cause it's erykah's song, i know i tend to be partial to prince's versions when i hear them first, plus he and rhonda only do a snippet and while she can play the hell out of that guitar her voice isn't really suited to the song

prince should have let rhonda sing all of it. his voice doesnt seem to go with the song as well as hers does.

Seeing Erykah do it here in Dallas at the aftershow with Prince on backing vocals was the ultimate version.

erykah gets my vote...during the Oakland show, Rhonda's mic wasnt mix right and you could barely hear her...the song is very simple and you need a distinctive voice to give it weight...the whole character and emotion of the song comes from Erykah...The girl just has a kick arse attitude...
