Prince Ever Do Massive Tours Again? It's been 20+ years since we've seen Prince in stadiums in The US . I think he still does stadium shows in Europe and The Far East.
But the Musicology Tour might have been the last time for those. At the beginning of this alst tour he said this would be the very last time he would perform his old hits. His old hits are primarily why everyone wants to see him. Hence why Musicolgy was held in larger venues. Without hits liek When Doves Cry,Contreversey, SIgn'O The Times, and U Got The Look Prince might as well be staying in theaters and small arenas like he did on the 2 previous tours. I don't know how illing european and worldwide fans are too see him without the hits but I don't think he'd fill stadiums. So does it looks like areans shows around the world and theater/small venue shows for the US for now o? Musicology sold 2 souldout shows at our 18,000 seat arena here in Houston. That's main cause he was playing his hits for the last time and he got alotof radio advertisements. Prince is one of those strange artists who will do odd things on a whim liek change his name, not do anymore record contracts, or not do his hottest hits anymore. It's kinda sad to see Purple Rain and Let's Go Crazy gone not to be performed anymore. Yes I like Prince in small setings ,I had one of my best Prince concerts there but I also like the big shows. It's inconcievable that you can see on of the very hotest artists of all time in a 2,000 seat theater and have it not sellout. You think he can still do arean and stadium shows without the past hits? Working up a purple sweat.

Who is to say that his next album wont be a huge radio commercial hit like Muisicology? HOw do you know people will not come in droves as they did last year just to see him? How will the general public even know if he will perform old hits or not? Most will simply get a ticket because it is Prince. People came to hear that as well. I was at 4 shows and I heard the reaction to "Call My Name" which was a charting nicely at the time. I say if Prince is taking the stage, people are coming regardless of what he is playing because the recall that last time they saw him and he kicked their asses. And if they didnt see him, they heard about it and want to see him. People know a great showman and the material doesnt change that.

There's something to say for both opinions, but I do think that a lot of casual fans will stay at home if he does a tour without any hits. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Yeah, but this he also said that in the 80's and in the 90's. Unless Prince signed a CONtract sayin otherwise, I'll have money in reserve for future tours in my area.

I don't think he ever actually said that himself. When Jay Leno asked him, he skirted around the question, suggesting that he wouldn't be playing the hits for awhile. It was the press releases that said he wouldn't be playing his hits anymore.
