There's an extra verse in the song "Purple Rain" I forget how it went exactly, but I first heard it on that live at First Ave. (Aug '83) show.
I think it started out as "Honey, I don't want your money, no no no....." Anyone remember how the rest of it went? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

"Gotta shake this feelin" is from the rehearsals for the 1984 birthday-gig. Purple Rain is recorded in 1983 at the First Ave show (3 August 1983) ... including a long intro and an extra verse

Anyone remember how the rest of it went? the verse had potential for the next line but then it veers into something strange and obscure, and i can see why it was cut. "i don't even think i want your love if i wanted either one baby i take me some money and but it, ...i want the purple rain" buy her love? right in the midst of such a beautiful revelation, epiphany, and such beautiful sentiments, is he reverting to calling the someone addressed in the song some kind of cheap hoochie? Thank GOD he didn't leave that in. Purple Rain is the greatest song ever made to me, and this would've tainted it. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Plus the "drug" reference with "I want the heavy stuff..." would have tainted the actual meaning of "Purple Rain" ...which I still haven't fully realized "Whatever skin we're in
