I just heard a version of Witness that sounds like its got a full group of people backing vox on it. I had heard this song before wayyy back around the beginning to mid-80s and I know its been a long time but I don't remember that.

Has this always been on there or like most prince tracks are there more than one version of Witness?

I believe there's 3 versions. Two of them are more blues/rock-like and one (my favorite) is more funk/rock, a little simular to Electric Chair from the Batman album.

The first two are raw compared to the third. Of cause I prefer the first version. The backing cocals and horns don't add anything but irritation to me.
The third version is too slick for me. It's sped-up (camille) and got more synths.
But the first version is really great!!
