Raspberry Beret - just for the suit and the cough and the way the audience dances in time to the snare drum.
Kiss - for the bit where Wendy is on the chair and smiles, and where the woman reverses the roles and kisses Prince and the look on his face Alphabet Street - cheap and nasty looking by today's standards but somehow extremely jolly and fun U Got The Look - for the way Cat keeps trying to see what all the fuss is about and then dragging Prince away from Sheena while still playing guitar I Wish U Heaven - for the way it starts and ends with an apple on a tree, Cat, Sheila and Boni appearing repeatedly in the background, the reflective graphics flying in and out, the way it moves across the screen in perfect time to the music. Batdance - for the fantastic batman/joker outfit Prince wears, for all the batmans and jokers dancing, for the 'All this and Brains too' t-shirt, for the bit where Prince crawls though the girls legs and the look on his face. Partyman - for the half-joker look again, for doing the extended version, for the bit where he plays piano upside down, for where he sings while eating an apple. When Doves Cry---a very effective "commercial" for the movie
U Got The Look---captures the spirit and excitement of the SOTT tour,and it spotlights the greatest band he has ever had.Sheena Easton looks hot,too. Alphabet St.---some say this video looks cheap and it does.But it has a certain charm to it. I Wish U Heaven---his most underrated video Batdance---I bet even Michael Jackson is jealous of this great video Cream---very stylish with some very impressive choreography | |

When Doves Cry--just for the mirror images during the dance sequences in additional to all reasons mentioned before.
Take Me With You--because this was the first time I heard Prince perform live (didn't see the Prince & The Revolution Live until after this) and for taking a song that I thought was corny at 13 years old and blowing me away with the guitar solo in the video. Gett Off--cuz it was so different and just funky. I only heard the flute version of "Gett Off" on the radio, and when the video came out---BAM!!! Prince funks me up again. Batdance--the Batman/Joker outfit made me think he should've played the Joker in the Batman movie. The dancers, the playfulness of the whole performance and did I mention the guitar solo? there are more favorites for me, but these stand out the most right now. | |
