I really like Musicology.

I mean its mainstream but its not sugar pop at all,
The tracks are very instrumentally great and the lyrics arent bad at all, i mean its not the ambigous lyrics he used to write which were fun trying to understand, but come on its Music, judge it for how it sounds, for not what PRince can do and used to do...

Musicology is ok. His worst album is Rave.

I don't think Rave is half as bad as New Power Soul. I'm still fairly shocked that Prince could do such a horrible album.

dang...take it easy buddy! I may be reaching here but I'm guessing laura was making light of the "loss of sleep" comment that seems to be a tad bit over the top...no? I mean really, Musicology may not be a GREAT album, but I'm sure he ain't loosin' no sleep over it. lol no need (in my mind) to start flinging the purple kool-aid. That should be reserved for much more deserved moments. wink

trust me,my comments to Laura here are well deserved...

I think Musicology had a few good cuts on it,nothing that could ever touch his primo-stuff,but still,a few good cuts.
To be honest,I have not slipped this into the cd player in over a year!

I like musicology and true that it wasn't good as his early work but i think that album wipped away his lovesexy and also rainbow album anyday.

i am looking forward his next album in 2006.

Lovesexy blows Musicology out of the Water spiritually and Musicology cannot hold a candle to the brilliant musicianship on The Rainbow Children. Musicology is subpar.

I can't Say that I agree...at all...Lovesexy is incredible and Rainbow Children is pretty good, except for James Earl Jones reading prophecy.

The Musicology Tour...that was fun. The Album...not so fun

Reflection and Dear Mr. Man are the only tracks I enjoy...

I don't think I'd call the album Crapology...but, that's just me.

Musicology is a joke compared to either album.

Lovesexy is my favorite Prince album and that probably has so much to do with the fact that it came out when I was coming out of the closet. That said, Lovesexy is truly inspired, as is The Rainbow Children. Dislike the narration voice or the lyrics on TRC, the musicianship is tight. There isn't anything on Musicology that can even begin to touch the musicianship on TRC. Listen to Everywhere and tell me anything on Musicology sounds as inspired. Not even close.

i don't have to tell u anything about what inspiration or me or nor it just that musicology to me puts me in the mood that lovesexy and the rainbow children hasn't. therefore u like ur lovesexy and i like my musicology.

Musicology is prince being lazy...
he can churn out these grooves in his sleep... However it did the trick, combined with the ticketsales it was a hit...
It is however a million steps down from Rainbow Children in art and experimentation...

nod It does make a difference when you have been on this long funky ride with P as I have and that's the truth. I've been admiring his music genius since 78. After my mom bought the 45' single I Wanna Be Your Lover, I was hooked ever since.
