I was listening to the song Movie Star last nioght. I know alot of you don't lioke the bootlegs, but not oly is it a good song, but it is really funny! give it a listen if you've just skipped over it in the past.

Funny that - I was just listening to that song this morning before going to work, for the first time in 3 yrs or so (since I heard the song, not since I went to work!). I agree, a great song, funny and funky.

Well is it really a BOOTLEG song now? I mean it is on CRYSTAL BALL DISC one, which was released.

movie star is a HIlarious song. I 1st heard it on a bootleg my cousin had picked up in 1991.

I was sooo happy it was one of the few Crystal Ball era cuts that actually did make it on the set, so I have it on cd now.

It's a song I make non-prince fans listen to, just to prove the guy has (had) a sense of humor.

Funny, but when my cousin gave me the bootleg, the name was written 'Movie StaRR" which I took as a nod to his Jamie Starr persona. In my imagined Prince reality, the character in movie starr was the side of Prince that took over when he wrote the "Jamie Starr/The Starr Company" tracks.

Remember the 1st time I heard this - bootleg called Chocolate Box, I think, segued into A Place In Heaven. Thought it was hilarious then, and still do. It's like nothing I've heard b4 or since, by Prince or anyone else 4 that matter...
