Which Prince songs sound 2 much like..... It was made in the 80's. Bcuz some of Prince's songs in the 80's sound like it could of been released in modern time, 2days music and still hang in there as the best. But which Prince songs sounds 2 much like it was done in the 80's and would'nt sound good in 2days music.
"Adore" would sound good in the R&B world. But not "Raspberry Beret". Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

To me, "Rasberry Beret" sounded like it was made in the 60s (which was intentional, I'm sure). Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

'annie christian' reeks so much of the early 80s that it could be hip again now.

Prince's 80's material for the most part never sounded like it was part of any era.
But if I had to chooose, it would be Little Red Corvette or Delerious.

"When You Love Somebody" has an 80's sound to me.
... And that's why I luv it. For some reason it evokes an "When You Were Mine" vibe. "Here you come again with your hat in your hand, confessing all of your sins. The same tired line that I've a thousand times, but still I have to give in. Cuz' when you love somebody, every now and then it might rain. When you luv someboday, in every sun shower there is pain Whenever something's lost, something's gained." Oh, and "Feel for You" unfortunately sounds so 80's, but in a bad way. look to love edit... [Edited 7/29/05 19:30pm]

This thread isn't limited to 80's music, but music that sounds like the 80s.

But then again... it's your thread so maybe you do just want actually 80's songs that sound like 80s songs... which would eliminate my other pick too.
You're too complicated.

Gotta Stop (Messin' About)
It's a guilty pleasure but Lord Almighty doesn't it sound like the theme to an old Revenge of the Nerds or something flick?

I don't think so. That song could go on any Nine Inch Nails or marylyn Manson albums and goths would say it kicks ass. They would only say it sucks if they knew Prince wrote it.

Obviously some of U guys dont know what I mean, Some of U guys answered it right. The question was which song from the 80's would not sound good in 2days music.

Threads evolve and take on a path of their own. Sometimes, a more interesting path.
Why not embrace that? | |

Why not embrace that? good point..but that usually means that another great thread could be created.. But then the potential of this thread and the magic of spontaneous development would be lost. Threads are like Life. The best plans are subject to variance ... and those who adapt and negotiate are the best of the survivors. Indeed the best of the species. this melodramatic application of Darwin's theory is brought to you by... too much wine on a Saturday night.
