G-spot and all night, all day

I wish he kept g-spot and all day, all night. His own versions are very good. The enegry of all night, all day.....wow

i think they work well with jill's vocals, though it would have been interesting to hear 'g-spot' on the purple rain album...or was it meant for apples to sing (i know prince sings the demo version, but...)? if that's the case, i'm REALLY happy jill wound up with it!

not to mention i really adore everything about the JJ album. nod

They're both great songs. The JJ album in general is of a very high tier in the cannon.

All Day, All Night is a personal fav.

The "1983 album" has been talked about a bit here recently, in addition that, I think it's fun to speculate on a 1984 album.

There was enough top-drawer material around then for Prince to exploit his popularity and still come out on top.

Not saying I'd prefer an album like this over ATWIAD, but it's just fun to play the 'What If' game. nod

I'm still trying to come up with a full version of Prince's version of G-spot.

All Day All Nite would be nice also but i've been trying to get a full version

of G-Spot for a long time!

thumbs up! to both songs, although I haven't heard Jill's version of each song, I'm sure they don't stray to far from the way P wrote them.

Prince's version of both these songs are superior to Jill's I think -- not just because he's a better singer, but because the orchestrations, tempo, etc. were far better.

His version of "All Day, All Night" is an absolute highpoint in the Revolution's career! Can you just imagine how beloved that would be now if it were wider heard? Can you just IMAGINE seeing that performed live back then!?!? nutty

Prince's G-Spot is one of my fave songs from that era and far superior to Jill Jones. The main musical motif is simplicity at its best and what he does with the rythmn is rawer and more suitable for the subject, plus it fits perfectly in the sound of this particular period, a very good example of it in fact. Jill Jones' version is just too slick pop for me.
