He wanted a camel at 2-3 a.m. lol. But man do I love Kevin Smioth and that story. How he tells it is enthralling, mysterious, enlightening, and funkin hee-larry-us. The audience is enraptured lol. I would have expected groans.

This camel crap needs to stop. I remember P's assitant saying in an interview that if P wanted a Camel at 2:00 am as an employee you should be able to make it happen. I think Kevin Smith has taken an extrarated example of how demanding Prince can be and taken it literally. Makes me wonder just how smart Kevin is.

i have to say the camel story is one of my favourite prince stories. but i'm not sure what you're saying laurenrichardson? do you remember where you heard about princes assistant saying that? i'm just confused over the word 'extrarated'! you mean exagerrated? in which case who told him the story if not the assistant?

Back up now. You're questioning Kevin Smith's intelligence based on what he says an assistant told him?

You know that story is most likely true, because you just know Prince really does live in "Prince World."

Kevin goes back a long way with the Org... nod

As for the camel story, lighten up a little Laura. I think Kevin was merely using that as a comedic example, to highlight how ridiculous things can get in the world that is 'show'.

I forgot about the org grammer police. I mean exaggerated as in overstated.
I remember reading an interview with his assitant. I think it was posted on this board. I remember the assistant saying "If he wants a camel at 2:00 am as a employee you need to make it happen.

If you read DMSR one of his former assitance complains about his unreasonable demands at all hours of the night and day. In addtion, I remember reading an interview with Big Chick who said he got fired the first day he worked for Prince but, he hung around and made sure he was at P's beck and call and one day Prince singled him out as an example of what other employees should be during by saying " If I wanted an Elephant in the room this guy would get it for me. The rest of you should be like him" It seems there is a history of P having unresonable expectactions from his employees and using the "get me (insert animal ) in this room attitude with his employees.

I don't know what you mean by lighten up. I don't take anything on this board seriously. However, I think Kevin and his stories are a little off the chain.

Kevin did not get anything wrong. He described what it must be like to live in Princes world to a T. Hell it is probably more ridiculous then what we know of.

And didn't he actually want a camel since they were filming a video at that point in time in the morning?

No, I think he got this wrong based on what the assistant said and the Chick story. P has wild expectations when he comes to his employees. I am not saying that is right but, I think it is pretty much a Hollywood everybody cather to me attitude. Typical Hollywood bullcrap.

But I think what people are trying to put across here Laura is that neither you (or they) know either way - so in essence, the point is mute. shrug

Maybe there was a misunderstanding because the camel story was not a true story, so there is nothing for Kevin to exaggerate. Kevin said the assistant, Stephanie, told him that Prince is the TYPE of person to ask for a camel at 3 in the morning in January and not understand why you can't get it for him. Kevin never said this actually happended. It was just an example of how Prince is

Never seen it. But in other dvd interviews I've seen he comes off as a self righteous ding-a-ling.

That is what I am saying. Some of the orgers seem to think Prince wanted a Camel in the room. (LOL) I know it was an example I don't think some of the orgers know. Now you guys can go back to your Kevin worship (LOL)>
