March 30 1995 Bono joins Prince for some parts of "The Cross" at his aftershow performance in Dublin's POD nightclub. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

Prince visited U2's KITCHEN Night Club for over an hour talking to a middle-aged woman for much of the time and then chatting with Bono. This is probably where Bono mentioned he loved 'THE CROSS' and Prince invited him to sing it at the beginning of the after-show. The two also went around Dublin together by car.
By all accounts Bono was a bit drunk and left as soon as he was finished stumbling through 'The Cross'. Probably turned around expecting to see Larry Mullen on the drums and saw Michael B. instead! “Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!” | |

Bono was sooooo drunk that night on stage...he messed up the words to THE CROSS and introduced Prince who was at his ''artist formerly known as ...'' phase as 'the prince'. Bono then led off stage by his security meatheads, giving peace signs to the crowd as he stumbled off, with much of the crowd laughing at him. I recall seeing Mayte outside the venue at the time....she was STUNNING !
I also saw Prince entering through the door of the Chocolate Bar entrance to the club...I was going to say something as there was nobody else around, apart from security staff and one photographer, but couldnt think of anything to say ! ha ha....when the photographer went to take a photo, prince put his hand up to his face as if he didnt want to be photographed. Couldnt believe how small he was...wearing shades, inches of makeup and walking with a cane...he looked like a cartoon character....surreal ! | |
