Rave in2 the Joy Fantastic......

vs Rave un2 the Joy Fantastic. I have a few questions about the albums.

1.How many people have both of em?

2. I heard one is better than the other?

3. Is it true you can only get one of them from the club?

4. What's the dealio with 2 versions of the same album? I mean I wonder why

the public received the "bland" version so called and the club one is supposedly

better with better mixes or whatever.
"Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

I have both. I like both, but I think "In2" feels more like a follow-up EP and "Un2" feels like a more complete album. "In2" is far better packaged CD than "Un2".

1. I have.

2. It's a matter of opinion, but I prefer 'Rave In2' over 'Rave Un2' any day of the week.

3. Yes, it's true. You can only get 'Rave In2' from the Club.

4. I'm not sure why. Maybe 'Un2' is the version Arista wanted Prince to release and 'In2' is Prince's way of going back and making it his way. Who knows? shrug

I expect loads of people have both albums. I certainly do.

2. I heard one is better than the other?
Well it's all a matter of opinion, but yeah, I much prefer Rave In2 to the
original commercial release

3. Is it true you can only get one of them from the club?
Yes. Rave In2 is only available from the NPGMC Retail store

4. What's the dealio with 2 versions of the same album? I mean I wonder why

I guess you'd have to ask Prince that question, but Rave In2 was planned and
completed before Rave Un2 had even hit the shelves. Personally I think the
whole project would have fared much better if Prince had just released Rave In2
in stores from the start.

Well, to be fair - you don't actually have to be a member of the club to buy Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic.

Enigmoid

In2 doesn't quite make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, but does succeed in making shite sound like slightly better shite.

The 'Rave' period should always be remembered for Prince being at his creative nadir. And it should also remind us all and make us glad that at least he's only had one all-time low (and has since rised above it), unlike many other artists out there.

On the positive side, Rave In2 is the more complete, satisfying product; a proper jewel case with a proper booklet. And I'd still rather listen to it than listen to 70% of the other artists out there who are making music. If you haven't got Rave In2, but have Rave Un2, then make sure you get the In2 product, cos it pisses on Un2 from a great height.
