I heard a slow quiet storm/jazz version of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD...i think Prince did one back when that song was out in 1993 but what I heard wasnt that version..it was a newer sounding version..anyone know who recorded that? I wanna order it...

i think you are referring to the "mustang mix"
this was released on the beautiful experience ep back in 1994
a reworked version of this mustang mix entitled "mustandg mix 96" also featured on 1 version of the holy river single released in 1996/1997

if the version you are talkin about is instrumental
then its the saxophone and guitar version also on the beautiful experience

Nope - its an instrumental on the Get Wild single called Beautiful Girl

It is actually a version of the song by sax player Brian Gallagher.
He was a member of the Paisley Park Horns.
His version did quite well on the smooth jazz stations.

Yeah,I remember the smooth jazz stations used to play the hell out of the Brian Gallaghr version,I always thought it was Eric Leeds until I found the Japanese import cd of 1800-New Funk.
Brian Gallagher is the sax player that does the sax-solo next to Prince in The Morning Papers video,right?

There are two "smooth jazz" versions of this knocking around, one by Brian Gallagher and one by Eric Leeds.
