I hate it that one of the best parts of the entire documentary (along with the God Is Alive session in London) has the credits rolling over it and is just CUT at the end...

Now THAT jam would be a worthy NPGmc track, but nooooo.....

Who's gonna thump Prince on his head?
Make him release the good stuff instead?

Yeah, and don´t forget the crystal clear footage of the infamous Revolution concert...y´all know what I mean, First Ave summer 83, when he debuted the Purple Rain songs..
Sure , it´s circulating, but not in that fantastic quality.

Awwww, that too...

That sweaty face, the ruined hairdo. I think that last is enough to never make it see the light of day, control-censored that he is.

That was the bomb. P was like the reincarnation of Ray Charles, while Ray was still alive!

And the First Ave clips... I'd do anything to have the show in any quality, but like that...

I had become bored and disillusioned with Prince for a while. I never saw this documentary when it first came out, but happened upon it one day a few years ago playing on TV.

That footage of him at the piano singing "The Ladder" was, to me, magical. If THAT didn't come from GOD, I dont know what has. That clip, and the clip of Prince singing that Mick Jagger song "Miss You". Wow. Anyone know if THAT show is circulating? (Prince singing Rolling Stones "Miss You" )

also a very pretty version of 'Just my Imagination', which looked like it was from the same lovesexy rehearsal.

the ladder performance was gorgeous, i agree. love

i love the footage backstage on the lovesexy tour. when he's playing in the mirror, looking at photos and says in that ridiculous voice, "aaaah, trying to make me look stupid, eh?"

giggle

brilliant doc, anyway.

nod

And when he's sitting in the audience seats, checking out the lighting, etc.. Fascinating to see just how much input he has into, well, everything.

I love that bit where the interviewer goes to Paisley Park, gets told he's out, then you see Prince prancing down a corridor in his heels. lol
