Musically, it's very tight. Some things in the concert were rehashed from the Sign O' the Times tour, and other new things would resurface during the Nude tour. It's a nice cross-section of both of those tours.
It's a great performance, but it's very rehearsed. Some of the choreography and "storyline" is very cheesy and plays out like a bad Broadway musical at times. I still hate the Lovesexy-era clothes. I also hate the long unbrushed hair look that he had going on, but when he's sitting at the piano with the scarf tied in his hair, he does looks very Moszart-esque. I like that fact that he toured for one of his least successful albums, yet the European crowd seemed to cheer more loudly for the new Lovesexy material than the old songs. Shows the difference between how Europeans appreciate music and US folks do. I also think it's odd that he denounced the Black album as "evil" and shelved it in favor of the religious rebirth of Lovesexy, yet he still continued to perform "Bob George" on the Lovesexy tour. I noticed that he did a far-better job of performing in the round during the Musicology tour the he did during the Lovesexy tour. In the Musicology tour, he worked the crowd and made his way to all sides of the audience almost equally. In the Lovesexy tour, you still get the impression that there was a center-stage of sorts. He made his way to all sections of the stage, but he tended to concentrate on one part of the audience like it was a traditional stage. "I Was FINE Back in the Day!"

TheFrog said: Christopher said: that is the best part ..he prances around in his blouse and sings all weird. And, also, if u waych closely when he and Mico do the double guitar solo, Prince comes in early with his vocal line. He realises just as the first word is about to leave his mouth. Mico carries on the solo and prince gives him a little nod to say 'thanks'.

re: still playing Bob George.
You evidently missed the point/message/theme of the tour. The first half of the show was full of the sexually charged, "evil" songs. He noted in the sermonette during Anna Stesia, "I played the first half because that's what you expected of me." At the end of Bob George, Camille is killed by the police as he states, "If I live in sin, then I will die in sin." He then recites the Lord's Prayer leading into Anna Stesia. The second half of the show is filled with spiritual songs and then the conclusion is the major hits.

It's all good except for the 'I Wish U Heaven' bit.
The best bit is the face that Boni gives Sheila during 'Let's Go Crazy' when Boni tries to grab a drumstick but Sheila is in the way. I bought a copy of the laserdisc for about £8.00 from eBay, bought a laserdisc player for about £15.00 and wired it up to my DVD Recorder, to make my own DVD. You can still find the Lovesexy laserdisc now and again, like here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eB...=WDVW&rd=1 Speaking of which... If anybody is money-minded, they could make a fortune from buying this gorgeous thing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eB...=WD1V&rd=1 and making DVDs of it. Not that I'm advocating piracy, of course. I'd buy this laserdisc myself if I wasn't skint.

It's the best concert video of his, bar none.
I've seen quite a few of them, and Prince was in rare form that night.
