The Fifth Most Wanted Unreleased Prince Tune I think that it's safe to say that among Prince fans (particularly those who grew up in the 80s with the diminutive genius and the Revolution) that among the top five most wanted unreleased songs, four of them would include "Old Friends 4 Sale," "Wonderful Ass," "Electric Intercourse" and "Moonbeam Levels." I'm sure that this short list won't be agreed upon by everyone, but I do think that the majority probably would be most satisfied finding these tunes on an officially released CD. What I'm wondering, though, is what is considered the fifth most sought after unreleased gem? I'm so unsure that I won't even decide between such songs as "Possessed," "Baby, You're a Trip," "Get Blue" or any of the others.
I'm interested to know individual #5 favorites, but I also want to get an idea on what everyone thinks would be the fifth most requested song even if it's one that you wouldn't choose.

My personal top 5 would be...
1. Rebirth of the Flesh 2. Can EYE Play With U? 3. Moonbeam Levels 4. Data Bank 5. Wonderful Ass But if I could only add one to the list it would be "Rebirth of the Flesh" just so we can finally have the whole Camille album.

Old Friends 4 Sale was on 'The Vault'. Okay, so you're probably talking about the earlier unreleased version, but it's not that different.
Difficult - I've heard these, but I'm talking about in full-on cd quality: 1. full-length version of Computer Blue 2. Rebirth Of The Flesh (the studio version - then we can all make our full-quality Camille cds!) 3. Witness For The Prosecution (earlier funky camille-esque version) 4. Baby Go Go (Prine's version) 5. Funk Radio (only heard a snippet, would like to know what the full song sounds like!) Close runners up include Prince's version of Love... They Will Be Done, Dance With The Devel and Well Done.

I'd like to have these 5 songs officially released:
1 The grand progression-I just LOVE this song! It's so beautiful. 2 She wants a place in heaven-I'd like to hear it without the beginning part where he talks about "environmental records" and "Makes me want to go to the bathroom". 3 There's others here with us-I think this song would be cool if it were produced a little more, the raw version is cool in its own right. 4 All my dreams-I don't care for the end part of this one but really like the first part. 5 Just my imagination-Nothing needs to be done to this one, release it the way it is. The sound quality is amazing. One of my favorite Temptations songs done masterfully by Prince. The guitar solo is incredible. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

The lyrics are almost totally different, and the overlaid vocals and horns on the vault version...ugh. well, that's how i see it. any-hoo, my top 5 would be: - old friends 4 sale '85 - moonbeam levels - purple music - extraloveable - uh-huh really ot sure about number 5. so many could go there - g-spot, can i come outside and play, 5 women...

A studio version of Electric Intercourse.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Okay, so you're probably talking about the earlier unreleased version, but it's not that different.
its ruined by the totally changed lyrics [Edited 7/19/05 4:38am] Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

I sometimes wonder whether fans really think there's much unreleased material
worth releasing. As whenever these threads come up people always seem to pick loads of tracks that HAVE been released (albeit without Prince himself singing the lead vocal line). So I'd have to agree with Soulyacolia and Jestyr and go with some TRULY unreleased tracks... Cosmic Day Everybody Wants What They Don't Got Love And Sex There's Something I Like About Being Your Fool Wally Emotional Pump Call Of The Wild Evolsidog

Is that a Prince song? I've been fooled before by imposters. Sounds like him, and it's a funky lil track.

Hmm well I haven't heard enough unreleased stuff to totally come up with a
list that includes stuff only he did that he didn't give to anyone. Anyhow my list would basically be the stuff I heard from a tape that my brother had that i've been trying to get back since whatever happened to the tape but have been totally unsuccessful and those tracks would b: His version of Neon Telephone Witness His original WE CAN Funk (Much funkier than that thing on Graffiti Bridge) His version of All Day and All Nite I also think i'd heard him do his version of Jill's Mia Boca. (I know he wrote basically the whole album i'm just talking about the one's he did himself before he gave them to her). Also if this list were exented a track Data Bank would be included. "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.
