It's okay for what it was at the time.
It was a New Jack thang... popular during the early '90s. Prince wasn't the only one with a song like this at the time (e.g. Humpty Dance). I remember when the "Game Boyz" performed the Jughead on Yo MTV Raps! 
It's just one of those songs where Prince thought it hip to be something he wasn't. If he performed this live today, don't you think it'd get booed? | |
