Sex In The Summer - Baby Heartbeat Sample

You could have thought that when using that sample, this song could have been a little bit about something. and not an Rkelly knock off.

Come to think of it, the feel lyrically is r kelly. Hey, he ripped off babyface on "somebodys somebody", so it is very possible he went for an r kelly feel on this one (even if the production is way to plastic)

Well, "Sex In The Summer" bears a very small resemble to the vibe of "Summer Bunnies", but I wouldnt say its R. Kelly knockoff.

The song sounds more like a tribute to Sly and the Family Stone, especailly the breakdown.

I've been saying that for years. I'm glad somebody else hears it too.

As for R.Kelly, that day Prince tries to make every lyric he sings rhyme with every swear word that he can think of over and over to a played out sample of water dropping over and over is the day I say Prince is trying to sound like R. Kelly.

Don't get me wrong, I like some of R.Kelly's cuts but far too many songs are far too repititious with far too many juvenille lyrics for me to feel comfortable calling him a genius.Of course some feel the same about Prince (and if you feel that way,you are entitled to)but he is a genius to me.R.Kelly however? All I can say is giving different titles to the same song doesn't make you a genius.Prolific maybe but genius no.

For the record,Somebody's Somebody was a seemingly consciencious effort aimed at the modern R&B market that Kelly ruled at the time. It didn't so much sound like an R Kelly song but it did sound like something you'd hear on the radio back to back with him though.

I don't hear "Summer Bunnies" at all. disbelief

I did always get a weird feeling about the baby's heartbeat being used in a song about casual sex, though. Just...weird.

Naw, I didnt say it was sounded like "Summer Bunnies"; I said the vibe of both of the songs had a similar resemblence - that uptembo, but laid-back, feel-good vibe that you can cruise to. But naw, there's no R. Kelly signature in "Sex In The Summer".
