Video - The One Does anyone remember the video to the song The One featuring Mayte (i think she directed it too)? If I remember correctly the vid was quite long and had a story line, unfotunatly I managed to record over my copy of it hence why I'm relying on my memory! I know I really loved the vid at the time. Was the video ever officially released, cos I've noticed it never ever gets any airplay now at all, and it didn't seem to get a great deal when it was released? | |

 rita moreno was in it as mayte's mom, and the beginning and end were supposed to be some kind of silent movie, and prince looked really really girly as some kind of dust bowl ruffian gentleman caller or something. | |

does anyone remember the hidden messages/verses that were in
the video? they were in the black and white silent film "dialogue" shots as sort of artwork lining the text. but in fact the artwork were letters forming sentences. something about Egyptology and something about Time as far as I remember. so does anyone have the actual text? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

I'm 100% sure about this. the text seemed like decorative drawings that circled the "text" screens in the silent movie part of the video and these ran all the way around the screen. at first it is not obvious that this is anything more than just decorative drawing but once you pause the screens you can see that is is clearly script. it slightly resembles the SYMBOL album font, you know the arabic script. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
