He played it too safe on this one. Why rehash? It's OK, but not what I expect from Prince.

"Musicology"the song is a nice JB tribute track, the young musicians need to hear that kind of music. No offense, but I really don't listen to the album very much.I purchased it out respect for our boy.

wow, Return of the Bumpsquad, that is SO right!
that's the element of the song I was still not
able to put my finger on!

you can sing the chorus of musicology while you're listening to bump squad, and it fits in perfectly. and vice versa.

You know what?

When he played the song live at a Melbourne aftershow in October 2003 when barely anyone had heard it and I gave a description of the song here on the org I said "It sounds a bit like The Work and Return of the Bumpsquad".

You people said i was crazy! mad

Now I see everyone agrees. confused
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

It’s a very good song. Catchy toon! However, as much as I like it, I still think that A Million Days or Man In Ur Life should have been the first single. The album would have sold an extra million copies if such was the case. Nevertheless, Musicology is a cool song, with a great bass line.

(IMO - I downloaded the ringer of Musicology *the song* from some free website, and I liked the song better on the ringer than on the album, just cus the ringer had the best part of the song and it cut right to it - the chorus at the end.)

Just my thoughts...but in my mind the Batman soundtrack is P's best work!

i liked Batman album... i dont know about best but i would say way better than musicology.
