does prince dig john scofield?

went to a scofield concert the other night, and it struck me if prince knows or likes johns music. scofield is an awesome guitarplayer with a uniqie style in melody and solos, but when he grooves and plays (more or less) simple rhythm guitar while other band members do their thing, it reminded me a bit of prince when he is hot on the rhythm thing.

any thoughts?

I wouldn't be surprised if P likes John Scofield, he is a very gifted and unique guitar player. Did you see him at the North Sea Jazz festival?
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Check out Herbie Hancock's CD "The New Standard" (1995) - Herbie does a really funky version of "Thieves In The Temple", featuring Scofield on guitar!

Anyway, I would think that Scofield probably digs Prince more than Prince digs Scofield...

Why do you think that? I mean, Scofield has a very unique guitar style and was a member of Miles Davis' band in the 80's.

That's true. But Prince has been much more exposed and also more influential, as a musician in general, so I'm just saying it's more likely that he has made an impression on Scofield, than the other way around.
