How's everybody?

I remember one of my favorite Orgers mentioning this to me, but I'm having trouble finding any info on it. Does Prince have a foundation dedicated to helping young artists avoid the pitfalls of being eaten alive by the industry or something of the kind?

I have a friend who's a singer/songwriter; he's being courted by several producers but is having a really hard time with figuring out how to spot a snake, who's offering the best deal, etc.

not prince related, but your friend should do some lurking at www.velvetrope.com - it's a music industry site where people share advice and tips all the time.

a word of caution - if your friend feels inclined to post, he should do so with a thick skin and some good common sense, because they'll eat ya alive if you come off as green. but they do have some great insights and tips over there, on a regular basis.
