Remember when Prince had a competition to win a date with him for the UCTM premiere? I don't cause i wasn't alive then but i sure as hell hope he does something similar for his next European tour  Really i do 
But he was so hot during the Parade era  Please forgive my groupieness mode, but Parade era every move and everything

There was an entire article in People magazine about it titled "Would you let your daughter date this man"
She was used to shopping for clothes at K-mart, so she was blown away when he took her to upscale stores and dressed her up to the nines (she still looked kind of homely though). The went to dinner, and went to the UTCM premiere together. She said that he wore more makeup than she did and he was playing with her hair and being playful during the entire date, but that he was also a gentlemen or something like that. Prince and his band also performed live on stage somewhere during that whole event. It was a large highly promoted flop. | |

I remember her name, it was Lisa Barber from Sheraton, Wyoming. I looked her up by calling information, and actually spoke to her about the date!! She seemed real sweet and said he was a perfect gentleman, even though he never did give her back her pearls. (at some point during the live broadcast, you see Prince borrow her pearls) | |

The story goes that Prince's management set this up without telling him that it was a win a date contest. He was furious and refused to go on the date with the winner. MTV threaten to put it out over the airwaves that he would not go on the date. So he went and of course was on his best behavior. No surprise the Prince and Steve Fargoli would part ways just two years later. Don't say Prince can't act when he wants to. | |
