What do you think Prince is most embarrassed about musically?

In his career what do you think Prince is probably most embarrassed about in his past work?. Not what you are most embarrassed for him about or what you think he should be embarrassed about but stuff he cringes at being remined of?

I am going to go with the whole Black Album..particularly Bob George. biggrin

I love that song! Been listening to it this past week! So cool! I don't think he'd be embarrased by that album it's so effin cool and dark smile

I've yet to discover an embarrasing musical moment hmmm

Maybe not so musical, but finally!

As for the question: I'd hope he's most embarassed about NPS the song and the album. Musically, this is his lowest-- it's one of the few times where Prince's worst was no better than anybody else's worst save for Mad Sex. Then again, he might be more embarassed about songs like Let's Pretend We're Married at this point.

He once said that apart from Kiss, there was nothing on Parade he was particularly proud of.Chaos and Disorder and Come were considered to be comprised of "throwaway tracks".Lastly, he was quoted as saying that he liked the music on the Black Album but not the negative vibe it produced.

PRINCE FALLING DOWN???? Yeah, that pic is not him falling on purpose. It's part of the show during either "Act 1" or "Act 2" tour. He is play acting. He's done it on many a tour before. It's a bit or a routine. That being said-I did see the boy trip and fall in MPLS during the Jam of the Year tour. It was actually played off quite gracefully.

I hope.

No, that's too weak a word. I pray it was the major motion picture, Graffiti Bridge.

If he is not embarassed by that, than we have surely lost him. disbelief

I know that they were efforts to finish his contractual obligations to Warner Bros., but "Chaos and Disorder" and "The Vault...Old Friends 4 Sale" are not worth the money I paid for them. I am a Prince collector and a completist and for that reason those overpriced beer coasters are still in my collection! razz

Probably Rave, since he got talked into trying to make a comeback and fell flat on his ass for it.

Bob George is probably the most impressive flexing of Prince's creative muscle ever... yet.... One of the my all time favorites, it proved to me that he was a creative god. Putting himself in the third person, the minimal beat, the scary organ loop in the break, prince playing the cop, the telephone voice, the scissorlike sample that's used on the beat for emphasis late in the song... the improve guitar throughout, the funky chane that comes at "kick your ass"...

How could he be embarrassed by the Black Album? the instrumentation and effects are so creative and strong. it's such a slab of flavour.

I don't know what embaresses prince, but I'm embarrassed of "We March" or maybe "We Gets Up" or even "right the wrong" or "Rest of My Life"

nod Kid was on planet Neptune that night.

I remember watching it and thinking "What is the Kid doing?!" But he didn't know either.

I'm sure there are songs that he looks back on and wonders about now, like in a 'WTF what I *thinking* then??' way, but I'd bet he's not truly embarrassed by a damn thing.

I think that Parade comment is weird considering his use of Girls and Boys, and Sometimes it Snows in April in a lot of tours since that comment. I stand by it being one of Prince's best albums.

Well I only possibly think he could be embarrassed by it because he let his dark side out on that album and we all know now he is a goodie goodie JW so I guess I think he would just be embarrassed that he made such a carnal, dark, album with alot of swearing, and negativity. Plus I think on Dead on it he was obviouisly threatened by the new wave of rap taking over and him recording that song seemed very spiteful. I don't know he never playes music from the black album...I'm guessing he just wants that music to disapear. biggrin
